How my school is affected by Ohio’s school funding problems

A person needs a good education to get
a good job, right? Well, It seems that the Ohio school system doesn’t care if
we students don’t get a good education. Ohio board members keep preaching that
education is the “ key to the future”. Well, if that’s true, why do they
squander the school’s money that should be used wisely and careful for the
students needs in the classrooms? Why is the cost of sports for students
rising, the number of teachers decreasing, and the quality of school building
disappearing along with the school’s money? I personally want to know what’s
going to happen to my education.
With the way the cost for sports are
rising it’s surprising that the schools even have teams any more. I mean,
sports have always been a little pricey but with the way it’s cost is rising
you think they’re playing pro. Sports have always been apart of any school’s
program and they’ll always be. But if the costs keep rising, very few people
will do sports due to the price. Why are the schools raising the price of
sports? Is it because it unwisely spent by the school board?
Speaking of doing things unwisely, the
number of educators (teachers) have been rapidly falling because the school
system needs to “ cut down” unneeded classes, like Home EC, music, and art.
Without the levies, these types of classes and the teachers that head classes,
will be cut from the school. Do the Ohio board members know how many jobs are
based on these classes? Or that so many students that could have the talent to
improve these types of jobs go untrained because these classes will be cut? I
have a very good talent for art but if the levies don’t pass, nearly all of the
art classes will be cut. Plus many people, who specialize in these areas, will
have no jobs.
Also, without the levies the school
buildings will slowly breakdown. Why, you ask? Well, first of all, most of the
money will be spent on classes and such things, and the building loses the
money that goes to repair it. Second, with the low staffing budget, the school
will get messier because there’s so much to clean and there are very little
people to clean it. These are the reasons the building will lose its qualities.
Did you guess where the reasons came from? That’s right, it’s the levies again.
All these problems are caused by the
way the Ohio school board is spending the money and in turn that causes the
levies and that causes the problems in my school. You see how the
Ohio school board is the reason behind all my school’s problems? Well, I do and
I plan to do something. I plan to, around the time people vote for the next
levies, tell people my reasons that they should vote for the levies. They
should vote for my fellow students and my education.
