I think the levy is ridiculous in Parma. They are taking away all of the electives from Normandy and all the rest of the Parma schools. The one reason why I think it is not passing is because if it does pass the elderly people have to pay more taxes. If the levy doesn’t pass were not going to have some of the important classes that we need to have in order to get a better education. So if the levy doesn’t pass that is important education that we are not getting in order to have a great education that will lead us to a great career.

Now I’m going to talk about the education effect it’s going to have on the kids and the school. There will be at least eight members of the Administrative Management staff will be cut there will be less school supervision and that means the kids there think their going to do whatever they want. We hear now about the stories on the news that kids are bringing more weapons and more drugs into school and getting caught. If this levy doesn’t pass all of the schools are going to be a mess. Also in the education there will be less help for the students especially if they don’t get what they are learning in class. This means more and more kids will flunk out if there is less and less help

Now I’m going to get into what us kids are talking about now. The outrageous prices to play some of the sports at the high schools. There will be nobody on the team for sports because of these outrageous prices and this is also bad for the school spirit and chemistry. It is going to be $950 to play freshman basketball. I recently played basketball here at hillside and I was planning on trying out for the Normandy freshman team. Now I might not try out for the team if the price is too expensive. Another ridiculous price is $1150 to participate in the golf club. I think that is crazy just to join the golf club. A lot of people will move out of Parma if the schools are crazy like this. Another thing that I think will happen is I think each year they will get less and less kids because most kids are going to join sports in high school. This is going to hurt all of the attendance at all of the Parma high schools. Also most coaches will not have a job any more if not kids show up for the tryouts and don’t have the money. I think the Parma City school districts have to lower the price on sports because even if you make the team you still have to pay for uniforms. Lastly I want to say that this is going to be very hard on the teachers, it could be extremely hard for them to find another job in the district. This levy is hurting a lot more people than people think.

The only thing us kids could do now is just tell everybody we know to go out and vote for the levy even though we probably need a lot more and it might not make a difference every vote will help us in trying to pass this levy. I think a thing that would have helped us is a snowstorm on the lass voting. If there were a snowstorm a lot of the older people wouldn’t have wanted to go out in the bad weather and danger themselves for an accident. The only thing we can do is just tell as many people as we know to vote.

If the levy continues to not pass there will be so many teachers getting cut from our school. Just last week one of our janitors got cut and two people in the office got cut. The schools are being torn apart by this levy and it is hurting more people than they think they are. Some of the great teachers that some students have had are going to be cut and that is a shame, this levy is hurting the students, teachers, school staff and the janitors. This levy is hurting everybody.
